The Windmill Farmer

A nurturing farmer in is danger of losing his crop of windmills when he struggles against the cyclical forces of nature. Created at the UCLA Animation Workshop, with music by Nick Fevola. This film was inspired while driving back from a trip to Palm Springs, when a friend said that it must take them forever to plant and grow so many windmills. I wrote down the title The Windmill Farmer for an idea to explore later, and about a year later I started developing it into a character and story. This film took 4 months to complete from the first boards until the final mix. Watch more films by Joaquin Baldwin: www.pixelnitrate.com Follow Joaquin Baldwin on Twitter twitter.com

PART 2, YOU SAW PART 1 BEFORE!!! how to make a cranksahft from a round billet bar on a single machine, all operations are made on a single machine. Incredible machine! Austrian made, the real deal on heavy and serious machining, CNC with Siemens, real milling live tooling, plenty of optionals, custom made machine for every needs, forget about similar machines, they are just TOYS and NOTHING compare with WFL. Energy industries, aerospace industries, oil and mining industries, heavy auto parts industries, heavy industries, race and high end cars industries, all among customers of WFL around the globe.

…and this is more proof of the brain-fucking-koo-koo-shit… becase a wind-mill is for grinding-up grains and wheat… to make flower(for baking) …and then you can mix-up the ingredients to make the dough… and then place the dough in the fucken bread-baking-oven… to bake the fucken bread!!! …as in whole-wheat-bread… and this has NOTHING to do with racism or with putting Jews/Israelis/Yankees-in-the-oven…

my 18 month old daughter is obsessed with windmills after a trip to a wind farm. i have just found this animation and she absolutely loves it. thank you so much, i’m sure we will be watching this most days from now on

Acho fantástica a expressão corporal dos ‘desenhos’. É um exagero sem fim que fica lindo.

This is an ad for the wind industry. It makes you think that industrial windmills are natural.
    Wrong, they are not.
They are industrial power stations that will definitely ruin our beautiful world.

    Bravo. Touching. I loved it.

Another touching theme. I really love the stories you tell and of course the different ways you have told them. Great animation once again!

@Flacksh0t Yeah, I know, but I asked about quite new video, not about more videos :-)

This is really beautiful I was crying a bit because it’s was so well made thank you for sharing this with us

@KEVINPOTTS1000 You replace it, step the program back to where the breakage happened, and start the program from that point. If you damaged the part, then it will have to be repaired offline or scrapped if too badly damaged. Thats the price of manufacturing!

  27. KEVINPOTTS1000 says:

WHAT HAPPENS IF A DRILL OR TAP BRAKES

  28. charzkuentzle says:

@StickerMedia It’s not done yet, it goes to a grinder after this operation

  29. Olymaq says:

cranks for mass productions are forged, then machined on dedicated machines, (usually more than one), main reason, keep price low. Cranks that cant be forged, (special steels or low production numbers), need to be done this way, machined down from round bar, if this is the case, then you will not find any other machine that’s capable to do the job like this. Its not the cheapest way to make a crankshaft, but this are not cheap cranks anyway!

  30. surajnetalkar says:

the crankshaft is probably for a prototype engine. These kind of machines are particularly useful as they eliminate a lot of special machinery for very small quantity items.Definately this machine cannot be used for mass production of the item shown in the video, special machines have to be used

  31. chaghar says:

@stupidYOOTUBE car crank shafts are made a lot faster and they have special machines. this is probabaly a crakshaft for a boat or excavator or something else…. as far as i know ;)

  32. stupidYOOTUBE says:

    thats why cars are expensive

  33. chaghar says:

    very nice

  34. dmorockny says:

Incredible machine and part! What was the total cycle time to make the crankshaft complete? Thanks for posting!!!

  35. StickerMedia says:

Wow, the excentrics.. i love the way it is made this way, on a single machine!

  36. adrianx26 says:

    this is art

  37. TECASat says:

This WFL M60 Millturnis a Very nice machine. There are many of special machining cycles like we can see in the video. I made also customized cycles for these machines. I did this so well that I made my business out of it. Now I do offer operator and programmer training for these machines!

  38. TECASat says:

This is the WFL M60 Millturn a Very nice machine. I did a lot of programming on this type of machines. I do now parameter programming even for crankshafts. Also I can offer operator and programmer training for these machines!

    wow… THE masterpiece :)

    @bigbattenberg
I am working on a Hembrug Slantbad right now!!

  41. bigbattenberg says:

    Fantastic stuff, thanks for posting.
I never cease to be amazed at the possibilities of this machine. I remember an engineer of Hembrug (with whom I was working on the development of their large 4-axis ultra-high precision vertical lathe), he said that the complexity of CNC programming of the WFL is just mind-boggling compared to their machine.

3:05… WOW! Haha and 5:32, it hobs the gear at the end of the shaft too! Fuck me, I gotta get me one of these machines. 2 axis lathes just ain’t cutting it after seeing this :D

    Incredible!
