Gates Of Babylon Look away from the sea I can take you anywhere Spend a vision with me A chase with the wind Move closer to me I can make you anyone I think you’re ready to see The Gates of Babylon The power of what has been before Rises to trap you within A magic carpet ride a genie maybe more A city of heavenly sin Sleep with the Devil and then you must pay Sleep with the Devil the Devil will take you away Oh Gates of Babylon You can see but you’re blind Someone turned the sun around But you can see in your mind The Gates of Babylon You’re riding the endless caravan Bonded and sold as a slave A sabre dance removing all the veils Getting as good as you gave Sleep with the Devil and then you must pay Sleep with the Devil the Devil will take you away Look away from the sea I can take you anywhere Spend a vision with me A chase with the wind Move closer to me I can make you anyone I think you’re ready to see The Gates of Babylon The power of what has been before Rises to trap you within A magic carpet ride a genie maybe more A city of heavenly sin Sleep with the Devil and then you must pay Sleep with the Devil the Devil will take you away

Jesus H. Christof! Back to Yngwie vs. Ritchie? This should be a celebration of metal’s most gifted singer! I grew up on Ritchie. He is my favorite guitarist because I approach the instrument the same way he does- it’s INSTINCT after 32 years. Yngwie is a fucking genius who stood on RB’s shoulders, sped it up, and opened the gate for Vinnie Moore, MacAlpine, and Greg Howe. Go listen to the song Marching Out- Plenty of “feeling”. The point? There’s never been a voice like Dio’s. J. Dewar’s either

@turns2gold beautiful man, you hit the nail on the head bro
the reason why blackmore and dio never had a good repore was because blackmore wanted to be the shit kinda like yngwie’s attitude but dio being a killer singer …dio over ruled ……

Memories, had the pleasure of seeing them about a week after the release of the album in San Bernardino, Ca. Ritchie just killed that night and with another great guitarist opening….Ronnie Montrose. Now as far as all these Yngwie comparisons PU-LEASE…last time I saw him live jeez. the over indulgence…riffing solos between every song just going off, hell he opened the show like that that by the 4th-5th tune nobody was diggin it but him and I’ll leave it at that

  24. wayneraynor says:

    this is absolutely f*u*c*k*i*n*g magic

  25. chymist66 says:

Dio in terms of outstanding vocal ability in Rock and Metal was ‘the man’ I’ve seen anyone worth seeing and he was just in a different league to the other genuinely great singers. A true legend! Saw him with several times Black Sabbath, Dio and Heaven and Hell a little too young to see him with Bklacmore’s Rainbow. Ronnie you’re still the man! Pocket Dynamite blows everyone else away!
