@jonjoy1999 I’ve been shocked by major electricity aswell… it’s extremely painful. But I would only say it was stupid/ not funny if there was a danger of serious injury or death. And unless I’m wrong… the level that they used was not potentially lethal/ likely to cause serious injury. So I dunno… it’s just funny to me how pissed off he was/ still is. And to some that would constitute a successful prank

“That was a real low point for the show”. The fact that he didn’t, and still doesn’t, see the funny side of that electric shock prank makes it even funnier to me. I wonder if the reason the producer is no longer with the show is because of that incident? Who knows. And before anyone says anything, I totally understand how pissed off Adam still is about it. I sympathise, it was a mean trick!
@skittlesnbugs That’s true. My brother in law and his dad are both electricians I would help from time to time and we always kept a short plastic pole with us. It was simply for if someone was to be shocked and their body not move or lock up. With the pole we could push them away without making contact and continuing the circuit to us.
@TheCug If I recall correctly from most of my safety training, one of the biggest problems with electrocution is that your body can freeze up and lock your hands around what’s electrocuting you. Making it nearly impossible to break the circuit, and likely resulting in death.

@HiCapacity it was 100,000 volts, and Tasers are different their actually only at a high voltage until contact is made and a circuit is formed it reduces down to 5,000 volts or so.

@Footballz3456 You’ve apparently never been shocked by anything that powerful. I repair fence and every now and then there’s the incidental shock. Depending on the voltage it can pretty much lock up your body for a momentary time and then right when it ends you feel like a bull kicked you right in the chest. I’ve yet to see anyone experience such and come out laughing about it or not completely pissed off. Not to mention the basic principle of the situation when it happened to him.

Adam himself said in an episode of Mythbusters, “You can be hit by a billion volts and you’ll fell bad, but it won’t kill you.” Close to that anyway.
I could tell that wasn’t going to end right. It’s one thing 100,000 volts casually brushing against a fence with *one side of your body* and it is a life threat to actually put that voltage across a person. I think Adam’s reaction was totally justifiable, you could see how sober everybody looked after the “cut”
